SINFUL COLORS PROFESSIONAL NAIL POLISH IN CINDERELLA

Sinful Colors Professional Nail Polish in Cinderella. Along with my growing lipstick addiction, my nail polish addiction is following closely behind. Every time I go to the drugstore, I have to see if there's a pretty new shade from Sinful Colors Professional to add to my collection. Sinful Colors has been my nail polish of choice lately, because the price really can't be beat. $2.50 per bottle! That's pretty darn good. I think it's around $1.99 in US drugstores as well.

CINDERELLA
When I look at this beautiful shade, i think of Cinderella's gorgeous blue gown with sparkles all around. Staring at this bottle, you can see the soft pale blue with flakie like shimmers reflecting pink, orange, and yellow tones throughout.

The formulation is smooth yet sheer, taking 3-4 coats for a completely opaque finish. Pictured is 2 coats, since I almost never do more than 2 coats. I'm satisfied. It's still a really gorgeous blue. Here's a closer shot.

I don't know if you can see the sparkles, but it really is one of the prettiest nail polishes I've seen. It's really subtle, and I love that.

Do you have Cinderella? What do you think? What nail polish are you currently wearing?

EBAY MAKEUP BRUSHES BY JESSUP | BUDGET BEAUTY

Ebay Makeup Brushes by Jessup. We all love a good deal, but with good deals come the risk of questionable quality. Shopping on Ebay is full of challenges, and sometimes it's just easier to buy the more well-known, more expensive brand. However, I like a challenge, and I especially like finding really great things for great prices.

I needed more makeup brushes (yeah, right), and I was debating on getting some from the more known brands when I came across a couple reviews of brush "dupes". The price was right at around $17 with free shipping here, so I went ahead and placed an order for these beauties.

Coming from China, I expected my order to arrive a month later. I was really surprised when it arrived within a week. The brushes are labeled Jessup. I assume that is the brand, but I've seen similar brushes with different names engraved on them. Either way, I'm more concerned with the quality of these brushes than the name they wear.

At first inspection, I'm impressed. The small brushes were wrapped up individually in plastic, and the face brushes each came with a brush guard. The brushes are hefty and sturdy, with gold ferrules and matte black handles. Jessup is lettered in gold on each brush handle. Before use, I gave them a good wash using baby soap and water and let them dry completely. Minimal shedding occurred, possibly 4-5 hairs total from the whole set.

The small brushes are not as dense as I thought they would be, but they are dense, which can be good and bad, depending on what I'm using them for. One of them came a little bent, but that's ok. I can deal. Currently, I use them for my eye makeup application, and they've been working really well. I'll tell you about each brush in the order they appear in the photo above.

Small Flat Brush - great for covering up small spots and dark areas
Small Flat Buffing Brush - wider than the Small Flat Brush, great for buffing in creams over imperfections or blending out powder products in smaller areas.
Small Angled Flat Brush - dense, great for applying concealer under eyes and inner corners.
Small Round Brush - dense, great for applying eyeshadow or cream products to the eyelid.
Small Tapered Brush - very dense, great for applying powder of cream products to the inner corner of the eyes, under the eyebrows, or anywhere precision is needed.

The larger face brushes are mostly similar to the smaller brushes, except bigger versions.

Angled Flat Top Brush - great for applying powder under the eyes
Domed Brush - very dense, great for buffing products into the skin.
Flat Top Brush - dense, wide, great for patting and buffing products like foundation into the skin.
Wide Domed Brush - dense, wider than the Domed Brush, great for buffing products into the skin.
Tapered Brush - very dense, great for applying cream products and reaching under the eyes and inner corners.

As with any other beauty product, these brushes can be used for whatever purpose your heart desires. If you want to use them with powder products, feel free. Cream products only, you can do that too. It's really up to you. These brushes don't have names, so I described them as best I could. Hopefully, it was helpful.

Do I think they're a dupe for a rather well-known cult brand of makeup brushes? Kinda yes, and kinda no. They are similar in build and idea, but aren't exactly the same, and these Ebay brushes are much less dense than the name brand ones. BUT, with that being said, these only cost $17 dollars for the entire set of 10 brushes, and for someone with my kind of budget, I'll take 'em. They're good quality, even though they do/will shed. I can't expect miracles, can I? Some even better news? They come in several different colors including White, Silver, Gold, Pink, Blue, and Purple! Oh so fun! Check them out here!

Have you purchased any brushes from Ebay? What's your experience with brush "dupes"? What do you think of these?

ASOS MINI SATCHEL BAG WITH SCALLOP BAR DETAIL

ASOS Mini Satchel Bag with Scallop Bar Detail in Nude. Well, dang, what a descriptive name. I don't even know what to write anymore... but I'll try. For my first ASOS purchase, I bought 2 satchels. Yes, TWO! I love satchel type bags, and since I was in desperate need for a new bag, I hit up ASOS online. I've been eyeing the satchels for months, and when I finally decided to order, there was a sale! Total score. There's a sale on a few items right now, if you're wondering.

ASOS Mini Satchel Bag with Scallop Bar Detail in Nude
This is one of the cutest bags ever. It is a sturdy faux leather design, and I like that it'll hold it's shape really well. I'm in love with the gold accents and the scallop detail. It's just perfect. I chose the mini version (9"w x 7" h), because I am mini size, and it's perfect. I think the regular size would've been too big. I'm happy I chose the color Nude, because it just adds a touch of class, and makes me feel very chic.

The flap flips open and has a single magnetic closure. Inside, it's black fabric, and there is a pocket towards the front for a cellphone, cards, or whatever you wish, and a zip pocket in the back. There isn't a ton of storage space, and it's really not going to fit a makeup bag, but I chose a small bag on purpose. Now, I can't shove all my crap in there. Well, I can... I can do anything.

If you'd like to take a look at ASOS's current offerings on satchels, have a look here. I purchased this little lovely bag here for $28.22 when it was on sale. Regular price is $35.11. I'm really quite happy with it, and even though I'd pay regular price, I like the adventure of waiting for the sales to pop up.

Have you purchased anything from ASOS? What kind of bags do you like to use?

FEATURING LAURA FROM DEMAND BEAUTY

Laura, Demand Beauty. Welcome to the ending of May, and what do you know, summer is here! The sun is blazing and the clouds are running away, so slather on that SPF and protect yourselves.

Through the month of May, you may have noticed a beautiful UK blogger hanging out below my posts. My friends, meet Laura, from Demand Beauty.

My name is Laura, I’m 18 and currently studying at sixth form trying to survive A Levels! My blog is called Demand Beauty as you can probably tell by the name that the main focus is beauty. I also write about different, random topics that interest me. I love photography, DIYs and gaming. You’ll always find me in Café Nero, making milkshakes or cracking a good old chemistry joke. Due to being in full time education my blog is more of a hobby, and I enjoy preparing a post anytime I can.

As all of us know, school work trumps blogging fun, so though she may post only a few times a month due to her dedication to education, she does put time and thought into her posts. Her latest post features a very summer appropriate outfit, and killer mint skinny jeans. OMG, those I need!

You need to check her out, and give her a lovely follow! Tell her I sent you!

HOW TO MAKE LIPSTICK LAST ALL DAY

How to: Make Lipstick Last All Day. Being the lazy girl that I am, I can't be bothered to reapply lipstick on most days. I just want it to stay put all day and let me be free to do as I please and eat what I wish. Well, I do have a little routine that I've been doing daily to make my lipstick last longer. This routine also mattifies the lipstick, so if you want to make a creamy or glossy formula matte, this trick works well too.

INSTRUCTIONAL VERSION

What you'll need:
Lipstick
Tissue squares
Translucent powder
Fluffy brush

What to do:

  • Apply lipstick.
  • Blot on tissue paper until lipstick no longer feels creamy/sticky.
  • Apply another layer of lipstick.
  • Blot again.
  • Apply a third layer of lipstick.
  • Blot once more, really good.
  • Take some translucent powder on the fluffy brush and dust over lips.

Lips should feel matte, and you're done! Your lipstick should last much longer now.

Let me know if you try it!

CRAZY RUMORS LIP BALMS AND LIP COLORS

Crazy Rumors Lip Balms and Lip Colors. I love lip balms! Yes, I do. I naturally have really dry lips, so I'm always looking for a good lip balm that provides moisture and doesn't create a dependence that would result in even drier lips after I stop using the product. Lately, I've been loving natural moisturizers for my lips, and that has been working really well for me. However, when Crazy Rumors contacted me about reviewing some of their products, I took a look at their site and got really excited. They have flavored lip balms. Like really good flavors! Oh, yes.

Crazy Rumors creates all natural, vegan, gluten-free lip balms in flavors ranging from Lemonade to Leaping Bunny. What is Leaping Bunny? Well, it's Plum Apricot, of course! Some of their new flavors include Sweet Thai Tea, Pistachio, and Ginger Peach. Yummy!

I was able to pick 2 lip balms ($3.49) and 2 lip colors aka tinted lip balms ($4.99) to review. I had a really hard time narrowing down the flavors that I wanted to try, but in the end, I chose Lemonade, Chocolate Strawberry, and HibisKiss.

The formulation of these lip balms are very smooth. They apply nicely and moisturize my lips for several hours. The scents are incredible. Lemonade smells just like homemade lemonade complete with lemon zest. I love citrus scents! Chocolate Strawberry is ohmygosh yummy deliciousness! I just want to eat it! You can really smell the chocolate and strawberry essence. So yum!

The ingredients are 100% natural, and they can all be pronounced and recognized rather easily. I found it interesting that they use Stevia as an ingredient. I've never seen that before.

HibisKiss is the lip color that I chose, because it's a shade of red, and I've never had a red lip balm before. The formulation also glides onto the lips smoothly, distributing a good amount of color to the lips. I apologize that I don't have a photo (I lost it!), but the swatch would be a sheer version of what you see in the tube. It says there's an enchanting hibiscus flavor, but I didn't exactly try to eat it, so I wouldn't know. I have tried hibiscus juice/syrup straight from the flower, and boy that is yummy stuff!

Anyway, I do have to say that I prefer the lip balms, because the formulation of the lip color doesn't seem to agree with my lips. After an hour or so, my lips felt very dry and cracked. It wasn't a good sight at all. Sorry. Still 2 out of 3 ain't bad, right?

While shipping starts at $5.15 (USPS Priority), I'd say $3.49 for a lip balm that is all natural and smells absolutely delicious, is a pretty good price point.

Have you tried Crazy Rumors lip products? What do you think of yummy scented lip balms?

Products provided for review purposes. All thoughts are my own.

SINFUL COLORS NAIL POLISH IN STARFISH

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Starfish. In my latest makeup tutorial, I created a soft and fresh interview look and included a recommendation on a soft yet feminine nail color. Sinful Colors is a current favorite of mine, and I just can't get enough of their nail polishes. Starfish is one of my favorite shades to date. It's soft, pretty, and it's PINK!

The formula is lovely. Creamy and smooth, lasting up to 5 days before it starts chipping. This is with a top coat of OPI RapiDry.

MAYBELLINE THE ROCKET VOLUM' EXPRESS WATERPROOF MASCARA

Maybelline the Rocket Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara. My obsession with mascara has currently been trumped by my new lipstick obsession. However, I still need a really good mascara for every day use. Like I've said before, my eyelashes are stubborn, stick straight Asian eyelashes (thanks parents). They're pretty long, but unless I curl them, I still look like a boy, so an outstanding mascara is a must. Maybelline's waterproof mascaras have always been my staples. They pretty much all do the same thing, as long as it's waterproof. The regular formulas don't stand a chance.

My gorgeous friend Kallie over at But first, coffee has raved about Maybelline's the Rocket so much, and after much hesitation, I bought the sucker. Only to realize I had picked up Brownish Black instead of Blackest Black. Good job, Ashlynn (that's me, by the way). Still, I decided to give it a go, and this is what happened.

That blue and hot pink packaging - love! The wand is rubberized plastic with about a million bristles all around. It grabs each and every lash, even the tiny little beasts at the inner corners of the eyes adding volume and length. Before each use, I like to scrape the brush across the top of the tube to remove the excess, since there is a ton of product on there. You really don't need all that, so I just get it off and apply what's left. The result is longer and thicker lashes, just as promised. Even this brownish black nonsense looks intense.

And here's how the Rocket works on my lashes. Pretty darn amazing, if I do say so myself. Will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out.

Removal is normal for every waterproof mascara. You need an oil-based remover to get it off. My recommendation is L'Oreal Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. It's a dream and super cheap.

On my lips - MAC All Fired Up
On my nails -Sinful Colors Starfish

Have you tried Maybelline the Rocket mascara? What do you think? Yay or nay? What's you're holy grail mascara?

MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK IN ALL FIRED UP

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in All Fired Up. Last weekend, I went on a little trip to Duty Free Shoppers (DFS) downtown. Being a tourist destination, we have duty free shops everywhere, which is good in the sense that I have access to some higher end makeup products. The whole "duty free" thing isn't that a big of a deal around here since we don't pay additional taxes at the register anywhere. All taxes are included in prices, so there are no surprises, which I really prefer.

Anyway, I walked around for a little bit to see what products caught my eye. I purposely headed over to the MAC counter to see what kind of service I would get. Normally, they just ignore me or give me the stink-eye, but that day, they were exceptionally friendly. I perused the lipsticks and found Ruby Woo which has been on my watch list forever, and next to it was All Fired Up. I had to swatch them, and I have to say that I really liked the look of All Fired Up so much more than Ruby Woo.

It's a fuchsia toned red that doesn't look very fuchsia-like, which is why this shade is confusing to me. In the tube it looks like a matte classic red, and on the lips it looks the same. In photographs though, the fuchsia comes through. I almost thought I was wearing a different lipstick when going through photos. Still, I LOVE this lipstick. I've already worn in several times, and I've... get this... reapplied this. *shocker! I never reapply, lol!

It looks shiny in the photo, because there was a slight sheen of moisture when I opened up the tube for the first time. It's gone now, though.

The formulation is Retro Matte, which is a little more matte and dry than the regular matte formula. I love it! I have discovered that I am a matte girl. I like me a good mattified lipstick that won't run all over the place or end up on my kids' face (or mine). I might have to pick up a few more from the retro matte line. Excited!

Application is smooth, but I do recommend exfoliating to get rid of any dry patches. I like to apply a really light layer of lip balm underneath, but this does shorten the lasting power. However, it's a little less drying that way, so I much prefer more moisture to lasting power.

Lasting power is decent at 4-5 hours without eating, and I do recommend a lip liner underneath for extended wear. If you're going to be eating or drinking, bring the tube along for a quick touch up.

MAC All Fired Up is a wearable red, especially if you're still a bit shy when it comes to bright lip colors. Okay, maybe I'm biased, because I love brights. Still, it's bold and beautiful, and I love it!

What's your favorite MAC lipstick? Do you have All Fired Up?

CLINIQUE CHEEK POP BLUSH POP IN PEACH POP

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Pop in Peach Pop. Wow, what a name! These Clinique blushes have popped up this spring season, and I think pretty much everyone is adoring them. There are four shades - Peach Pop, Plum Pop, Ginger Pop, and Berry Pop. They retail for $21 at your local Clinique counter or online. I have two shades, and today, we're going to admire Peach Pop!

Peach Pop
Can I say that this packaging is freaking adorable! I love the clear acrylic pot - so simple and classic. And the flower embossed blush itself is too cute! It's almost too cute to touch, and it was for a while, until I decided that I HAVE to touch it in order to review it for you. Well duh. You can't really tell, but I've been using this blush for a couple weeks now, and it still looks good!

You've got the Clinique logo on the lid and the blush details underneath. Simple. Lovely.

And here's the swatch. So pretty! The formulation is lovely, so smooth with a slight sheen to it. It's not glittery at all and is perfect for spring. I like to use either my Real Techniques Blush Brush or a duo fiber brush to apply this onto my cheeks.

I did have a few photos of myself wearing it, but my hard drive DIED last week, and I lost everything. EVERYTHING. I was depressed for a bit, but I'm moving on. Word of advice - back up your computer at least once every couple of days. You'll be sorry you didn't. I was.

Anyway, Clinique Peach Pop is the perfect blush for any skin tone. It goes on sheer and you can build it up for a more glowing, blushing effect. You need this. If not only to let it sit on your vanity. Don't want to spend money on it? No problem. I'm giving one away in my latest giveaway! Give it a shot and good luck!

What do you think of these adorable blushes? If you have one, what shade do you have? I may just get the other two, hehe!
