CLINIQUE POP LIP COLOUR + PRIMER | PUNCH POP, CHERRY POP, WOW POP

Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer. A few weeks ago, I saw these cute little lipstick tubes popping up on my Twitter, Instagram, and Blogger feeds, and I was instantly intrigued. First, they are freaking adorable! Also, they were from Clinique, a brand that I have loved since I first started washing my face with proper face soap back in middle school. I love their Cheek Pop Blushes, so naturally, I needed these Pop Lip Colours too, of course.
There are 16 shades in the range, and whether you like a soft, neutral nude or a deep berry, there's a shade for you. With a built in primer, these little tubes offer great pigmentation, providing full color in just one swipe (see photo below). The formula is moisturizing with a glossy finish that isn't sticky or slippy, but will move around more than matte or satin finishes.
I picked up three shades, Punch Pop, Cherry Pop, and Wow Pop, and I'm quite pleased with them. They are of course, my favorite shades to wear, and for sure, I'll be picking up a few more shades to add to my collection. At $18 each, they are more on the pricey side of lipsticks, but I think my love for them eases that pain a little. Must. Get. More.

Have you tried any of Clinique's new spring/summer offerings? They have more Cheek Pop Blush shades available too!

BEAUTEQUE BB BAG | APRIL 2015

Beauteque BB Bag. Since I moved to California, I haven't resubscribed to any beauty subscription boxes. I think my experience with Ipsy towards the end of last year left me feeling quite unsatisfied. Yes, it only cost me $10 a month, but think - that's one big delicious bowl of pho that would make my tummy super happy. I can have an extra bowl of pho each month. However, Beauteque contacted me to see if I would be interested in trying out their April BB Bag, and of course, I said yes. What could it hurt, right?

BEAUTEQUE BB BAG
The Beauteque BB Bag is a monthly subscription through the site Beauteque Monthly*. You get around 7 or 8 full-sized products to try out, and you can choose a couple of items in each bag. The rest is a surprise. The items range from beauty and makeup to skincare.  At $24 per month, it isn't the cheapest subscription bag out there, but it's not the most expensive either. Bags get shipped out by the 15th of the month, and you can subscribe for that month's bag as late as the 5th of that month. So, you have a bit of deciding time in your favor.

As you can see from the photo, I received quite a few skincare items in the April bag, which I'm quite happy with. I haven't ventured much into the realm of Asian skincare, but I hear good things, and I am really excited to try out the sheet masks! I've already tried the Honey Sleeping Pack (honey moisturizer for your face!), and I like it. I wouldn't sleep with it though, because that's too messy for my tastes. I also really dig the cute macaron lip balm. It smells like strawberry Hi-chew! Noms!

Overall, I like what I got. Will I subscribe? Probably not at the moment, because like I said, I'm not into subscriptions right now. I'm still waiting to see if I want to sacrifice my extra scrumptious bowl of pho.

Have you tried the Beauteque subscription? Your thoughts on Asian makeup and skincare?

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS LIQUID LIPSTICK IN SAD GIRL

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sad Girl. Deep, ruby, plum shades are my go-to shades. Anything that resembles MAC Rebel - ugh, yes! Anastasia Beverly Hills, known for killer brow products like the Brow Wiz and the Dip Brow Pomade have been releasing a wider range of beauty products like the Contour Kit, Eyeshadows, Liquid Lipsticks and Lip Glosses. While the price range for ABH products are in the high end spectrum, I do like to try out new things, so I picked up Sad Girl from the Liquid Lipstick range. At $20 a pop, I'm expecting magic here.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS LIQUID LIPSTICK IN SAD GIRL
The photo of my face above is not edited at all. I just put my face by a window with sunlight beaming through, and BAM! Instant photoshop ;). I'm also wearing Sad Girl over UD 24/7 Lip Pencil in Mrs. Mia Wallace. Any red lip liner will do, though.

With a wide range of shades to choose from, there is a color for everyone under this beautiful sun. I prefer the reds, pinks, plums, and darks, but there are a few beautiful nude shades as well. Sad Girl is a gorgeous plum, ruby with fuchsia reflects throughout. It has a slight sheen when completely dry, and looks absolutely stunning.

The formula for Sad Girl in particular is somewhat like a mousse. Application was not easy, but not too bad. I feel like some of the darker pigments clumped up, so it needed to be smoothed out. I did this with the wand as well as blending my lips together throughout application to spread the pigments more evenly.

After a few minutes, the lipstick will set to a tacky yet not sticky finish. I do find that this formula is quite drying, and after a few hours, my lips feel the need to be soaked in butter and oil to regain moisture. I always follow up with an intense lip treatment after using Sad Girl.

Lasting power is similar to other liquid lipsticks I've tried. If you eat oily foods, of course, this will degrade the lip product where the oils touch your mouth. If you drink through a straw and eat non-oily foods, it will last much longer.

Overall, I love this shade so much! I would wear it everyday if my lips could handle it. However, due to the drying formula, I'm reserving the use of Sad Girl for days when my lips are feeling extra good. Is it worth $20? Depends on you, mostly. I'd much prefer these over Lime Crime any day.

Have you tried any of the ABH lip products lately? I'm thinking of picking up a couple of the lip glosses soon!

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick. Urban Decay has been one of my favorite brands for over a decade. No joke, no lie. Their eyeshadows are pigmented and smooth, and their lipsticks are just as amazing. STRETCH MARKS, BODY CONFIDENCE, BEING HAPPY

I HAVE STRETCH MARKS! And quite a lot, actually, but that's ok. I'm ok. I'm alive, healthy, and I love my life. My stretch marks don't define me. Nothing on my body defines who I am as a person. They represent the challenges I had to endure, and they also show that I'm still alive despite the efforts of labor. I survived!

I don't let my scars affect my confidence or how I love people. Yes, it would be nice to have a nice body. It would also be nice to have a few million dollars in my pocket. Let's get real - I'm happy with what I have, because it means that I was able to birth 2 wonderful children. It also means that my body worked - it didn't kill me, and now I am here. I'm still sarcastic, smart, funny, and I still love helping people.

We all have scars, whether they be on the outside or on the inside, and we shouldn't let them dictate how we live our lives. I sure won't. I am happy with who I am, because I had to fight hard as hell to get to where I am. I won that battle, moving on to the next one and the next. I'm living life. My life.

As spring rolls in, I'm cleaning out my soul, my internal closet. I'm setting it free, and I hope that you can do this with me. We all have stories. What's yours?

WINGED LINER FOR HOODED EYELIDS

Winged Liner for Hooded Eyes. Anyone else have trouble making their eyeliner even? How about making them show through them hoods? If your eyes look anything like mine, our eye makeup looks great when our eyes are closed. However, the top flap of our eyelids fold over when our eyes open, hiding away our wonderful art work and making the wings look a little bit funky.

I'm going to share with you how I get my eyeliner as even and as visible as possible without drawing an extremely dramatic line. I'm not one to cover my entire lid in eyeliner, so this is how I like to do things most days. If you want to see how I do this, check out my little video below.

How do you wear your liner? Any tips for hooded eyes?
